Natixis has just renewed its support to Passeurs d’Arts, an organization that creates children’s orchestras, mainly in disadvantaged areas, thus providing greater access to musical training. The Passeurs d’Arts orchestras use music to promote social cohesion and to combat social exclusion, violence and academic failure.

Cap Tutti

Since September 2016, Passeurs d’Arts has been testing the ’Cap Tutti’ concept at its Garges-lès-Gonesse facility in the Ile-de-France region. Once a week, 10 third-year high-school students, who are members of the Passeurs d’Arts orchestras, work with 10 young students with disabilities from a medical educational institute. The former help the latter push their limits by joining the orchestra and playing in concerts.

Christmas concert

Some 300 children, young people and professionals from the Passeurs d’Arts orchestras played separately and together for their Christmas concert on December 23 at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris. Almost all of the Passeurs d’Arts community was present and won over the public. The children from the Bondy orchestra gave their first performance after only a 3-month initation, while the Britons from the orchestre de Fougères were more than a 100 to have participated and the people from Garges-lès-Gonesse were amazing.
