Cyberbullying has become a true threat 2.0 since the development of the internet, with social media and later the Covid-19 crisis in particular severely exacerbating the problem. In 2019, more than 40% of under-50s had already suffered repeated attacks on online social platforms, including 22% among young people aged between 18 and 24*.

Younger victims sometimes find it difficult to talk about the issue, with the result that parents often feel powerless: 79%** of parents believe that psychological support would be useful for their child in cases of cyberbullying.

Faced with this serious society-wide phenomenon, Groupe BPCE has taken action by rolling out a prevention and victim support campaign. All Natixis Assurances’ school insurance and health insurance policies, distributed by Caisse d’Epargne, include psychological support. This includes up to five phone appointments for each beneficiary, as well as up to three face-to-face meetings for minors, provided by a network of more than 1,500 clinical psychologists across France.

Additionally, Caisse d’Epargne is now a sponsor of e-Enfance, an association that helps children and their parents adopt appropriate internet use, raises awareness on the risks of cyberviolence and supports victims in the event of cyberbullying. Caisse d’Epargne has pledged to provide financial support for the association’s missions, to help enhance its visibility to make it more widely known to the general public, and to promote 3018, the national telephone number for young cyberbullying victims seeking support.
