Racing Club de France won the first French 15-a-side rugby championship in 1892. The new Racing 92 Natixis Sevens team repeated this feat during the first French rugby 7s championship, held on Saturday 1 February 2020 at the Paris La Défense Arena.

The brand new Supersevens has its first champion

In a very festive atmosphere, the Sky-Blue and Purples came up against LOU Rugby, the Barbarians français, the Stade français and, finally, Pau in the final. Four matches to win the trophy and make history!

Antoine Gibert, who was in the academy only 4 years ago, was elected man of the tournament. Congratulations to him and to the Racing 92 training facility, which once again proved that the Parisian team is at the top.

For this inaugural event, the Supersevens had only one stage. From next season, the format will change. Three qualifying tournaments will be necessary to earn points in August 2020, and the Supersevens final will take place with the 8 best teams in November, at the Paris La Défense Arena.

We are already looking forward to seeing this fine Racing 92 Natixis Sevens team defend their title.
