The European Commission has published its list for the Technical expert group on sustainable finance, with 35 members selected from among 185 candidates. The group will work on implementing the action plan on sustainable finance between July 2018 and summer 2019.

Mirova, Natixis Investment Managers’ responsible investment affiliate, features on this 35-strong list and will be represented by Manuel Coeslier, equity portfolio manager and carbon-neutral fund manager.

The Technical expert group on sustainable finance will be tasked with:

  • Developing an EU classification system, or taxonomy, of environmentally sustainable economic activities;
  • Creating an EU Green Bond standard;
  • Developing a category of low-carbon indices as a benchmark for a low-carbon investment strategy;
  • Defining metrics allowing improving disclosure on climate-related information.

Work is expected to end on June 30, 2019.
