Presentation of Natixis’ main shareholder
Natixis is a subsidiary of the Groupe BPCE, the cooperative bank born out of the merger between Banques Populaires and Caisses d’Epargne.
Natixis is affiliated to the group’s central body, i.e. BPCE, which directly holds 70.527% of its capital. As such, Natixis benefits from the group’s financial solidarity system.
Groupe BPCE totals 36 million customers, 8,000 branches, 8.8 million cooperative shareholders and 105,000 employees. Its three core businesses provide a full range of banking, financial and real-estate services.
In France, the retail bank is underpinned by the Banques Populaires and Caisses d’Epargne networks with fourteen savings banks — of which 2 national affinitary saving banks, CASDEN and Crédit Coopératif — and fifteen savings banks, respectively, all with deep roots in the territory, and by other more specialized brands. Groupe BPCE is France’s second-largest retail bank in terms of market share.
Groupe BPCE is a key player, directly or via its specialized subisidiaries such as Crédit Foncier Immobilier, in all aspects of real estate from beginning to end: promotion, social housing, project finance, home loans, guaranties, services and advisory.
Natixis is a French multinational financial services firm specialized in asset & wealth management, corporate & investment banking, insurance and payments. Its clients include corporations, financial institutions, sovereign and supranational organizations, as well as the customers of Groupe BPCE’s networks.
